4.1 Visa Requirements and Jurisdiction
German citizens require a visa to enter Uganda, which must generally be applied for online via the Uganda E-Immigration System. A visa on arrival is officially only available in special cases and is subject to increasingly restrictive conditions; the Federal Foreign Office clearly recommends applying for the e-visa online in advance.[^5][^11][^3][^10]

4.2 Important visa categories for German travelers

4.3 Online Application (Single Entry Tourist Visa)

4.4 East African Tourist Visa via Uganda

4.5 Long-term stays (work, study)
For longer-term activities, work permits or student permits are required in addition to the entry visa; these are generally applied for in cooperation with a Ugandan employer or a university. Typical steps:
- Obtain a job offer or admission to a study program.
